Islam Under Scrutiny by Ex-Muslims

Ahmadiyyas: The Untouchables of Pakistan

Islam says that there will come a messiah before the end of time to lead the Islamic community. Qadyanis, aka Ahmadis (Ahamdiyyas), are a Muslim sect, who think that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (18351908) was their messiah. This sect was founded by Ghulam Ahmad in Qadiyan, a place in India, towards the end of the 19th century. They are now divided into two groups: Lahori and international Ahamdi group. Qadyanis preach that the Jihad of the sword, initiated by the duo of Allah and Muhammad in the 7th century Arabia, is now abrogated. They aim to Islamize the world by dawa.
According to Pakistan Ordinance XX, the Ahmadiyya Muslims are not allowed to call themselves "Muslim" or "pose as Muslim"; it is punishable by three years in prison. This Ordinance and the 1974 Amendment in the constitution effectively gave the Pakistani state the copyrights to the term, "Muslim".
This is ridiculous in the extreme that Muslims waste more energy in giving fatwas to make Muslims non-Muslims than giving “dawah” to invite non-Muslims to Islam. Perhaps, dawah is a difficult task nowadays.

Today I was watching a video of Zaid Hamid, who is Pakistan’s so called think-tank and ex-Mujahid of the Afghan War. He was repeatedly saying about human rights abuses of untouchables and minorities of India. I don’t know about conditions of minorities in India; but what I know is that being an animal is better then being a “dhimmi” in more “Islamic” and less democratic Republic of Pakistan.

  • Pakistan is one of the nations in this planet earth that openly persecutes non-Muslims and even some Muslims.

  • Pakistan openly distribute pamphlets and literature against non-Muslims and sects of Islam. Pakistani government spend state money to distribute literature against Qadyanis. But Qadyani literature is banned in the unholy land of Pakistan.

  • Pakistan is a state on the planet earth where there is no freedom of speech, freedom to walk, talk and even breath. No freedom to breath in a sense that an ex-Muslim like me won't be able to inhale oxygen from this land, if I openly declare my apostasy.

  • Pakistan is a land on the planet earth where Qadyani students are expelled from educational institutions due to their religion.

  • Pakistan is a place where even a Nobel laureate (Prof. Abdus Salam was a Qadyani) is disgraced just because of his belief in Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.

  • Pakistan is a country where students boycott classes because they don’t want to be taught by Qadyani teachers.

  • In Pakistan, Ahmadis are burnt alive at “rabwa” station.

  • Pakistan is a state that uses clauses like “blasphemy” to legalize persecution.

  • Pakistan is the only land, where your house will be demolish if you join or support the Ahmadiya Muslim movement.

  • Pakistan is a land, where newspapers and editors have no respect for other religions.

And at the end of day, Zaid Hamid is right; Pakistan has a lot in common with Medina of Prophet Mohammed. Pakistan is the same Medina, where Mohammed massacred the Banu Quraiza Jews. History is being repeated.

Now I will like to share some facts about persecution of Ahmadi sect of Islam after my long and emotional speech.

This is an annual summary of events of persecution committed against the Ahmadi minorities of Pakistan:

As described above, Pakistan is the only land on the planet earth which allows persecution legally. According to Article 18 of the United Nation’s universal Declaration of Human Rights:

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

Let us check the following summary of Offences Relating to Religion in Pakistani constitution:

  Description Penalty

298B Misuse of epithets, descriptions and titles etc., reserved for certain holy personages or places, by Ahmadis Three years' imprisonment and fine

295B Defiling, etc., of Holy Quran Imprisonment for life

Are not these constitutional clauses clear violations of the UN’s Declaration of Human Rights to which Pakistan is a signatory?

Nowadays, Pakistan is using different tactics to divert India’s attention from the Mumbai massacre. The main thing, which Pakistani TV channels are repeatedly broadcasting is that, there are untouchables in India; Muslims are being persecuted etc.

As a conscientious human being, I appeal to everyone having access to mainstream Media in India and other Western countries to highlight the persecution of Ahamdi Muslims as well as other non-Muslim minorities in Pakistan to create pressure on the government to stop the state-sponsored violation of human rights.
